Voice Your Support

The quality of education in NC has been improving for several years now. Smaller class sizes, consistent teacher pay raises and all around safer schools are among the many things the legislature has been working tirelessly to enact. If you support even better education outcomes in NC, let your representatives in Raleigh know!

The state’s unemployment rate continues to fall. Folks are working in North Carolina and so are Republican-led pro-growth economic policies. Their success is benefiting hardworking families and businesses alike. http://bit.ly/2S2LsPI

Earlier this week I was honored to be asked to speak and be a part of a groundbreaking in Louisburg, NC. My work as HHS Appropriations Chair mostly involves very long range projects and policies. For example, the creation of the Dorothea Dix Fund a few years ago was to increase the amount of, and quality of behavioral health care available in North Carolina. It is incredibly rewarding to see the fruits of our labor particularly in rural areas of our state. In partnership with NCDHHS, Duke Lifepoint Healthcare and many others 20 new geriatric behavioral healthcare beds will come online soon at the recently reopened Maria Parham Hospital. These beds will benefit ALL North Carolinians, and especially those in Louisburg and Franklin County.
